In today’s increasingly complex business world, an IT employee needs to understand how technology works and, even more importantly, how to glue it all together effectively, according to a recent Business Examiner article. Business Examiner is a business resource in Washington state.
An IT employee should also be able to establish rapport, trust and a working relationship with the company and its employees. He or she should be able to explain technology in layman’s terms so the company and employee can work together on technology solutions.
“Finding the right IT Guy shouldn’t be different than filling any other position on your team,” the article says. “Chemistry trumps skills every time. And if you compromise on the former, then you’ll wind up with issues that technology simply can’t resolve on the latter.”
