Staffing Firm Settles Applicant Lawsuit

Integrity Staffing Solutions has settled a discrimination lawsuit brought by a job applicant convicted of aggravated assault and manslaughter 30 years ago, according to a recent Morning Call article.

The applicant, Albert Dunn, accused the firm of violating the Civil Rights Act when he was denied a job at an Amazon.com warehouse because of his criminal record. according to the article. Dunn was convicted on the charges after shooting a man who threatened him and his family.

ISS has agreed to reaffirm its equal employment opportunity for people with past criminal convictions and will re-emphasize to supervisor and personnel engaged in the hiring process the importance of appropriate review of an applicant’s criminal history, according to the article. Financial and other terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
