Best Cities to Find a Job in 2012

As the U.S. economy continues to show signs of improvement and companies feel more confident investing in talent, demand for skilled workers is again on the rise. With the national unemployment rate down to 8.1 percent and continuous monthly job gains, Adecco Staffing USA compiled a list of the 10 best cities to find work in the United States:

  1. Washington, D.C., and Arlington/Alexandria, Va.
  2. Austin, Texas
  3. Ithaca, N.Y.
  4. Boston, Mass.
  5. Portland, Maine
  6. Dallas, Texas
  7. Nashville, Tenn.
  8. Columbus, Ohio
  9. Baltimore, Md.
  10. Pittsburgh, Pa.

Adecco developed the list based on internal data and feedback from its regional branch network across the United States. The list factors in the local unemployment rate, job opportunities based on volume of job openings over the past six months and a general assessment of the overall economic environment in each market.
