Many staffing firms fall victim to “warm-body syndrome,” in which they make poor hiring decisions just to fill a position.
However, these poor decisions are expensive – the average cost of replacing an employee is 300 to 700 times that employee’s hourly wage, according to a recent blog by Mel Kleiman, founder and president of Humetrics.
Kleiman provides several tips for treating this syndrome:
- Target who might want to work for you.
- Write a recruiting appeal tailored to that demographic.
- Start an employee referral incentive program.
